A Response to Norman Fenton's Essay
Norman Fenton has written an incredibly moving and astute essay describing the observations that many of us have had in regards to some members of Team Reality’s appalling reactions to Hamas’ genocidal massacre of Israelis on October 7th.

I would like to share with you his essay, and some comments co-written with my husband William on this mass scapegoating phenomenon that is unfolding in real time.
In the first few days after the Jihadist massacre in Israel, I started to hope that, maybe, it would usher in the end of the “Woke” Neo-marxist State religion, which has "colonized" most of our institutions.
Their gleeful support for Hamas' genocidal actions would backfire on them at any moment.
But it wasn’t just the Woke — to my great shock and horror, many people whom I had become allied with since 2020 started to join, whether overtly or covertly, in the persecution of the victims.
Suddenly, "team reality" shrank in half overnight.
What happened on October 7th was not a Reichstag-style event, but a Kristallnacht-style event. Not every event unfolding in the world is carefully planned by globalist chess players.
The “freedom” movement has gotten much smaller in the last few weeks, but Norman Fenton is most definitely still a prominent part of it.
Unfortunately, many former members of the freedom movement have abandoned the ship to join one of the oldest collectivist human traditions; the scapegoating of the Jews in a mass formation psychosis to release societal level tensions.
I honestly did not see that coming. I now see them the same way as those who wanted me to lose my job for refusing to submit to lockdowns, for refusing to wear a public health Burqa, for refusing to be coerced into a certain fashionable medical experiment. Those who won't unequivocally support the victims, the Jews, and will not denounce without any caveats the perpetrators, Hamas, along with every other genocidal Jihadist organization, enable the worst evil.
They were supposed to be 'critical thinkers'; they have now uncritically joined this new “Current Thing” mass psychosis.
“But don’t you care about the Palestinians?”, is the new “but don’t you care about freedom & democracy in Ukraine?”, which was the new “but don’t you care about black lives?” which was the new “but don’t you care about Grandma?”
They should know better.
I used to think that the covid mass psychosis taught me everything I needed to know about humanity. But this rekindled anti-jewish mass psychosis showed us that there's a whole new level of insanity out there.

We see that 'Team Reality' was not immune to mimetic contagion. Every person I know who thinks the way Norman Fenton does about this, has come to the conclusion by themselves.
They are standing alone against the mob - yet again.
These former members of the “freedom” movement, who were supposedly skeptical of the MSM, are now mindlessly parroting MSM & Globalist talking points, trivializing, relativizing, and even denying the October 7th genocidal massacre. Pouring fuel on the rapidly growing anti-Jew mass formation in the process.
In the late 1920s & 1930s, the growing collective hysteria against the Jews provided cathartic release after many years of hardship (Great War, hyperinflation, Great depression…). Many in our societies today are in dire need of a cathartic release, after years of hardship under the collectivist public health regime.
Many covid dissidents were not in it for freedom. They were collectivist fools who had found the identity they were lacking in the "resistance".
I've often said that it wasn't only the injected mask-wearing branch Covidians who had permanent brain damage from the Covid mass psychosis; many amongst the dissidents too have been profoundly traumatized, and couldn't let go of their new found identity, that was subconsciously weighing on them.
I’ve heard some former covid dissidents commenting on how everything has been feeling so much lighter recently in their social interactions (co-workers, friends, family...).
They are relieved that they can finally interact “normally” with some of the people they had had tensions with during the Covid hysteria. By joining collectively against the Jewish people, they found a new common foe that‘s replacing their former rivalry.
For them, Covid is finally over.
“Peace at last”, they think, ”and the Jews had it coming anyway, they deserved it. But I’m not an anti-semite.”
The tension has been released. For now.
This pattern is all too human, it’s the oldest story in the human experience.
The jews are once again the scapegoats, conveniently used as a target for the release of this collective malaise.
Make no mistake, many Germans too thought that they were victims of the Jews, as they were perpetrating the most horrific crimes against them, horrors only surpassed by what Hamas, along with many Gazan civilians, did on October 7th.
Many in the West back then also thought that the Jews deserved it. The German population was both victim & enabler of the National-Socialist regime. The public health regime, despite its best efforts, would not have survived for very long without the explicit support of the vast majority. In a mass psychosis, the enabling public is both victim & perpetrator.
If you ever wondered why so many countries, such as the UK, US, and Canada, turned around boats full of Jewish refugees fleeing Europe, now you know.
If you ever wondered how you would have reacted after the Kristallnacht, now you know.
If you ever wondered where the path leading to the Holocaust started, this is how.

Norman’s extraordinary post does one important thing; he exposed the scapegoating mechanism. Violence will end when a critical mass stops enabling the perpetrator in its attempt at blaming the victim for its own crimes. Team humanity needs to put the blame squarely where it belongs.
I know many of you feel the same as we do, and like in March of 2020, many of you are afraid take a stand against the scapegoating mob.
But your voice is needed.

Specifically, we will be doing deep dives about one of the most important philosophical idea to have emerged in the aftermath of the horrors of the 20th century: René Girard’s theory about mimetic desire and scapegoating.
Born on Christmas day in 1923, René Girard witnessed the horrific rise of the Third Reich from his native France.
In one of his seminal books, The One by Whom Scandal Comes, written shortly before his death in 2015, nine days before the Jihadist massacre at the Bataclan in Paris, he wrote:
“Violence seems be to be escalating in a way that may be likened to the spread of a fire or an epidemic. The great mythic images rise up again before our eyes, as if violence had rediscovered a very ancient and rather mysterious form, a swirling vortex in which the most acute kinds of violence merge into one. Now there is the kind of violence that is now seen throughout the world, a terrorism without limits or boundaries that heralds an age of wars of extermination against civil populations. We seem to be hurtling toward a moment when all mankind will be confronted with the reality of its own violence.”
