That was very opinionated . . . and very good. So true to make the distinction between switching parties for a new flavor and genuine change. I saved this and will be sending it along when I hear Polievre supporters proclaim it will be different. The Epoch Times for example who call out the CCP but won't name the WEF as the power behind Canada's takeover. And Polievre showed up at the Trucker Convoy but was silent when Randy Hillier was taken out. You're doing great Kate; thanks for your work.

After seeing what the fascist technocratic state did to the truckers and living in fear of my bank accounts being frozen for donating, my husband and I began our Plan B planning. We are now permanent residents of Mexico, have bought a home here, and are spending the winter here. My daughter, who was visiting last week, said after one day, "The people seem happier here, particularly the children." That has been my observation as well and so it was interesting to hear her say this after a mere one day here. Multi-generational families gather in the square, there's music and celebrations frequently, and nobody is pulling down statues, desecrating places of worship, or engaging in the self-hatred that is destroying the West.

We're not ready to give up completely on Canada yet as we have financial ties that complicate a permanent move here and family ties, but I'm glad to have somewhere else to go. Mexico is the easiest and least expensive residency to get so I encourage others to do what we've done. You don't have to buy a home here or even spend a certain number of days a year here, which is not true of many other residency programs.

Having said all that, I agree with the premise of the post -- politicians will not save us! We must do whatever we can to insulate ourselves from the powers-that-shouldn't-be.

It's unfortunate that most don't see the difference between criticizing the implementation of a policy, from the policy itself. TBH, most people don't even understand our government system, nor care to

Such a great analysis! An eye opener for this Canuck in Australia. It's making me think about my plan B. We are in a nanny state and those who used to say 'get fucked' with restrictive policies have been worn down by the lockdowns. I'm not sure what's an available safe haven on this side of the planet.

Mexico's president is called "communist," however, that was the only country that never shut its borders while the rest of the world did. Tanzania stayed open until President Magufuli was assassinated in Feb 2021. In 2022 we visited El Salvador, the only country in the world (along with Mexico) that allowed unvaxxed people to enter without a test. Trump sycophants are saying he is like Milei or El Salvador's Nayib Bukele. He is nothing like either of them.

Thank you all you and your husband do, Kate. Love this quote from your essay: "Not unlike Trump, who’s proudly defending how he implemented his disgraceful policies like lockdowns, Operation Warp Speed, inflationary money printing, protectionism and rapid expansion of the administrative state size and power; never questioning the legitimacy of his harmful policies. If you take a look at what war propaganda is and its purpose. It's purpose is to dehumanize an entire race or group of people. Naturally people do not think that walking around and murdering other families because a murderer is on the loose is ok. War propaganda does this. Guilt by association is a lie and evil.

Thank you for getting me out of my "go to sleep" mode with Poilievre.

I think it's time to start considering plan B for me as well

Your individual rights end where they start to infringe my individual rights. Government has an obligation and responsibility to protect the health and safety of all citizens, and crises such as wars and pandemics will warrant some restrictions of individual liberties while the crisis is ongoing.
