Thank you so much for your insightful comment @Renewable Lethargy. I think you’re right in that most people marching have no idea what’s going on. Western self-hatred is one hell of a drug.

On one hand I understand looking around at our decaying West and think there is nothing good about it. But it’s the rejection of all the good things that has got us here— on the part of our corrupt leaders, who want to drag us into post-modern hell— and a nihilistic segment of the population who want to tear everything down with no thought about what that means for our future.

Read Thomas Sowell’s “Black Rednecks, White Liberals”. He may have cracked the code on hatred of the Jews (and other similar minorities).

What an outstanding discussion. I am here in the UK , watching the whole reaction to the situation in the Middle East play out in the forms of huge street marches every weekend calling for an end to the bombing etc, and at the same time the media absolutely united (apart from the BBC) in condemning this as a cloak for rampant anti-semitism. Now, it seems to me that a lot of ordinary Brits (who don't have any particular interest in the history of Israel, Palestine and historical claims to rights of settlement and all the rest) just want the campaign in Gaza to end and can't see why a solution isn't achievable. And I would have to say that I am reasonably sure that very few of these demonstrators would in any way endorse what happened on October 7th. That is important here. So they suspect other agendas in play involving the USA and UK governments notably. Consequently it is almost impossible to question what is going on without being called anti-semitic. I think your guest is right when he mentions a resentment of Jews by some people just because they are clearly a smart and resourceful group of people - whether you call them a race or religion or culture. The thing is that if I said this as a Christian in polite society, I would almost certainly be called an anti-semite, using stereotypes etc, which is ludicrous of course. It's generally true that other ethnic or racial groups are smart and resourceful and successful and it should be allowed to observe that truism. But the so-called left wouldn't stand for that of course. Which is where EDI and the rest of the socialist ideology comes in. Just a broad take on some of the points brought up. But the points about anti-Israel sentiment being de facto anti-Western sentiment is really undeniable. Brilliant talk, Kate. Thank you.

Very interesting podcast. Prof Graham touched on many societal symptoms. Any group that stands out can prove a target by others but add financial/personal success and it is easier to claim that they somehow stole something from ordinary people.

Like any identifiable group, there is the same broad personality mix of human beings. Some of these are overly tribal i.e., sociopathic. There are Jewish individuals who tout that they are the only ones "chosen by God", the Chosen Ones. Those tribal-thinking individuals seeking power and wealth use these statements and Jews as a whole as the reason why others have not done well. Some Jews are exclusive and prefer to remain insular and become particular targets because they remain in the fringes of popular society.

The issue is not being Jewish or any other identifiable group but the tribal-mentality of a few abusing one group to gain power over all others This personality is present in small doses everywhere but highly destructive.

Yeah, the Ethiopian Jewish truck driver living in the Negev totally fits into your stereotype. You nailed it.

Honey, I am no shrinking violet. If I need to call someone out for bad behavior - Jew or no Jew - I will. But right now one of my biggest issues is people like you who latch onto a simplistic - and WRONG - explanation for what is going on in the world. The Jews are not my problem and they’re not your problem. What you’re ACTUALLY complaining about is High Status people who decide to play the ELITENESS game. High Status people of every origin play this game, and yes that includes some Jews, but the detrimental effects of the ELITENESS game being played are not the fault of The Jews. It’s the fault of High Status people who are seduced into playing the ELITENESS game. That game is played at the expense of citizens and patriots the world. Even Jewish middle and working class people in Israel get screwed over by the ELITENESS game.

In summary, if you’re going to vomit words, at least do independent work to verify that you truly understand what you’re saying and that it corresponds to reality. Jews are not the problem. High Status people seduced into playing the ELITENESS game (a kind of new Aristocracy that is unaccountable to citizens) are the problem.

Jews are not monolithic, just like “whites” are not monolithic. This oversimplification is an impediment, not an aide, to understanding. That being said, people will attempt to reduce Jews (and whites) to a cartoonish cypher for a group, but the end result will always be confusion, not clarity.
